The JES Welding Program is an 8–12-week short-term training program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the welding industry. This hands-on program provides students with the knowledge, technical skills, and practical welding experience needed to work in industrial, construction, fabrication, and manufacturing environments. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to test with the American Welding Society (AWS) for entry-level welding certification. Students will be responsible for their AWS welding testing fees.

This program provides extensive hands-on training in individual welding booths and workshop environments while balancing classroom instruction with practical application. Students will receive instruction in the following welding processes:

  • GMAW (MIG Welding)
  • GTAW (TIG Welding)
  • SMAW (Stick Welding)
  • FCAW (Flux-Cored Welding)

Additional areas of instruction include:

  • Blueprint Reading and Welding Symbols
  • Precision Measuring and Layout
  • Metallurgy and Metal Identification
  • Oxyfuel Cutting Techniques
  • Welding Safety Procedures
  • Weld Quality Control and Inspection
  • Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing Methods

The program is designed to help students gain the foundational skills necessary for AWS entry-level welding preparation and employment opportunities within the welding field.

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Program Length

  • 8–12 Weeks

Upon completion, students will receive a short-term welding certificate from JES Welding Program acknowledging successful completion of training requirements.
